Photo Gallery: LifePoint LIVE - July 6, 2008 - Richard and Pam Smoak, Missionaries to Tanzania/Burundi, East Africa!

Today was a blast!  The worship kicked!  Roland jammed in spite of having wrecked his car yesterday and being a bit sore because of it (check out the pic of his wrecked Yaris on the photo section of this blog)!  After the worship set, we watched one of my favorites:  A sweet missionary film.  That's always fun!  Then, we heard from the missionaries themselves . . . in person . . . live and up-close . . . face-to-face!

We were privileged to have with us 21-year veteran missionaries, Richard and Pam Smoak.  Their 20-year-old son, Gordon, a student at Louisiana Tech,  was with us too.  He jammed on an African instrument, Richard wore a traditional tribal costume  and Pam, along with Richard, sang in Swahili.  It was pretty cool!

Richard had a "word" for LifePoint and I believe God inspired it.  He encouraged us to forget the past and move on in our walk with God.  I know that sounds pretty generic but it had a much more specific vibe to it.  It was a word of maturity, growth, journey and God moved by His Spirit!

LifePoint already supports Richard and Pam and the work of God in Tanzania/Burundi.  I'm glad everyone got to connect with these long-time friends of mine and Val's!  Richard told me he of his intentions to start an orphanage in central Tanzania and  I told him LifePoint would help!  He invited me to come over to Tanzania in November and preach at their national conference.  Sounds good to me!  While there, I'll check out how we can help with the orphanage!

Peace and love to Africa!
