We Believe . . .

God is one.

He is revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The mystery of the nature of God is that the mighty, awesome God of all the universe literally, fully became a human being.  Apostle Paul said this was a great mystery, even to him (1 Timothy 3:16).

God's Plan of Salvation is Jesus.

Jesus' birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension and intercession comprise His Finished Work.  This is the Gospel or Good News through which God has phenomenally provided for our every need (2 Peter 1:3, 4).

There is an initial, appropriate response to the Gospel.

Humankind should respond to the Gospel by turning from whatever we have trusted in and turning to Jesus, hence dying to our old way of life.  We should bury that old way of life in water baptism and be filled with His Life, the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; Hebrews 6:1, 2).

Being two-thousand-years removed from the first church, who today really understands the Word?  It is difficult to know.  However, we do know that right after Jesus' resurrection, the eleven remaining Apostles were helped to understand the Word, especially regarding the death and resurrection of Jesus (Luke 24:45).  Because of this, LifePoint is commited to synchronizing what we teach with what the Apostles taught, including how they practically applied the deep truths revealed to them, as recorded in the historical Book of Acts.  LifePoint seeks to be a "Vintage Church" rather than a "Traditional Church".

God's plan is holistic, to heal the whole person.

Through the Finished Work of Jesus, God has provided for our healing - spirit, soul and body (Isaiah 53:4, 5; 1 Peter 2:24).  He has also provided for our material, financial well-being, too (Mark 10:29, 30; 2 Corinthians 8:9)

A lifestyle of humility and obedience to God's Word is vital.

To access all God has provided, to be in His will and available at His bidding, we must walk in humility and obedience to His Word.  While we trust in His Finished Work as the source of our salvation, we should be learning more and more how to please our gracious God in our everyday lives.  As Eugene Peterson put it, we believe in "a long obedience in the same direction."  As we do this, our lives are transformed.

There are many other teachings to which we adhere.  We present these in OnRamp, a small group which serves as an intro to LifePoint.  Contact us for the next date, time and location of OnRamp so you too can get on the LifePoint FreeWay!
